Ludy

 

Jack T. Ludy, 84, of Smyrna went to be with the Lord on August 5. A native of Greenville, OH, he was a long-time resident of Nashville.

 

Funeral services were held Aug. 10 at Woodfin Chapel in Smyrna. Brother Jason Lohorn officiated.

 

A graveside service was held Aug. 10 in DeKalb County Memorial Gardens in Smithville with military honors.

 

Mr. Ludy is survived by his loving wife, Mary Taylor Ludy; daughter, Bunny Kemp and her husband Mike of Smyrna; sons, Bill Ewerling of Hermitage, Jack Ewerling and his wife Nancy of Lancaster, CA and Mike Smalley and his wife Sandra of Smyrna; grandchildren, Wyota Smalley, Denise Stagner and her husband B.J., Bryan Slate, Jessica Clemmons, and April, Noelle and Chris Ewerling; along with many great-great grandchildren.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Jewell Schmittou Ludy; brother, Frank Ludy; and his first wife, Katherine Holleman Ludy.

 

Mr. Ludy was a member of Stones River Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, and a retired Assistant General Manager with Electric Service Inc. Mr. Ludy had many passions that included golf, bowling and eating at Hardee’s with all his friends. He also enjoyed going to yard sales. Mr. Ludy was proud that he attended the National Bowling Tournament for 40 consecutive years.

 

Memorials in memory of Mr. Ludy can be made to the Stones River Baptist Church, The Gideon’s International, or to Alive Hospice.

 

Family and friends served as pallbearers.
