Mark Eugene West, 62, of Alexandria died Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at St. Thomas DeKalb Hospital.

He was a carpenter, Baptist, and a U.S. Army veteran.

A memorial service was held Saturday, February 10, 2018 at 2 p.m. at the Chapel of Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria.

He was preceded in death by his father, Elzie West; maternal grandparents, Harry and Mary Bankston; and his paternal grandparents, Bryan and Lillie West.

Survivors include his mother, Jeanette West of Alexandria; sons, Jared West and Jason Melton; brothers, Lyle Matthew and Jan West of South Bend, Indiana and Brian and Julie West of Bell Buckle;  aunt, Carlis Brooks; uncles, Gary Bankston, Spurge Bankston, Darryl Bankston, and Wayne Bankston; special cousin, Melody and Glynn Pedigo of Smithville; and several nieces and nephews.

Anderson Funeral Home, Alexandria, TN was in charge of the arrangements.
