Funeral services for Mary Frances Aughinbaugh Hayes, 78, of Smithville, were held Sept. 30 at Whorton Springs Baptist Church. Bro. David Mahan officiated with burial following in DeKalb Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Hayes passed away Sept. 27 at NHC of Smithville. She was affiliated with Whorton Springs Baptist Church and was a loving wife and mother and was formerly employed at Nuturn and the Smithville Shirt Factory.
She was preceded in death by her parents Joe Edgar and Thelma Rebecca Aughinbaugh and two sisters Dorothy Green and Barbara Calvert.
Survivors include her husband of 59 years James Hayes of Smithville; son Ricky Hayes of Smithville; daughter Vicky (Joe) Bogle of Dowelltown; two grandchildren Michelle (Paul) Cantrell and Tony (Amanda) Trapp, both of Smithville; five great-grandchildren; a brother Joe Edgar Aughinbaugh of Viola; two brothers-in-law Johnny (Trena) Hayes of Peagram and Morris Braswell of Smithville; and her very special church family that loved her dearly.
Serving as pallbearers were Mark Hayes, John Warren, John Grubbs, Eddie Braswell, Eric and Chris Bogle.
Love-Cantrell Funeral Home, Smithville, was in charge of the arrangements.
