Mary Helen Murphy, age 73, of Smithville and a longtime resident of Dowelltown and the Sycamore Community, passed away Monday morning, October 1, 2018 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Mary was a Baptist. She was a homemaker and a retired factory worker
She was born August 24, 1945 to her parents, the late Robert and Louise Tarr Baker. In addition to her parents.
She was preceded in death by three sisters, Georgia Barber, Bonnie Howell and Shirley Gibbs.
Funeral service was conducted Thursday, October 4, 2018 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bro. Timothy Baker officiating and burial following in Sycamore Cemetery.
Survivors include a daughter, Cindy Murphy of Nashville; three grandsons, Jon Murphy of Nashville, Nathanyel (Natasha) Pedigo of Smithville and Trenton (Kim) Pedigo of Dowelltown; 11 great-grandchildren, Savannah, Sophia, Jackson, Kenadee, Katie, Alexis, Madison, Aiden, Landon, Lillian and Rylan; three brothers, Billy Baker of Smithville, Glen (Billie Ann) Baker of Liberty, Jimmy (Fay) Baker of Smithville; three sisters, Betty Scurlock of Carthage, Dorothy Leach of McMinnville and Sue Mitchell of Cookeville; and several nieces and nephews
