Funeral services for Matthew Malachi Lawson, 28, of Smithville, were held June 15 at Hunter Funeral Home, Watertown. Bro. John Smartt officiated with burial following in Jennings Cemetery.    
Mr. Lawson passed away June 13 at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville. He worked as a logger and was affiliated with the Church of Jesus Christ.  
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Hobart and Betty Linnear and Lemmie and Ruby Lawson.
Survivors include his parents, Charlie and Ruth Lawson of Smithville; sisters, Diane (Shonnie) Sanders of Woodbury, Amy Lawson of Liberty and Virginia (Chad) Carrier of Smithville; a brother, Mark Lawson of Smithville; six nephews; four nieces; a special cousin, Shannon Herman; and aunts, uncles and cousins.
Hunter Funeral Home, Watertown, was in charge of the arrangements.
