Funeral services for May Rigsby, 88, of Smithville, were held July 7 at the chapel of Love Cantrell Funeral Home. Bro. James Wright and David Frazier officiated with burial following at DeKalb Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Rigsby passed away July 3 at DeKalb Community Hospital. She was self-employed and affiliated with Spring Street The Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents John Wallace and Elva Lee Henry Gooch; son Dennis Rigsby; brother Pollard Henry; sister June Williams.
Survivors include her husband of 59 years Willie Rigsby of Smithville; grandchildren Tommy (Susanne) Rigsby of Oregon, Shannon (Dale) Garner of Morrison; great-grandchildren Piper Rigsby Oregon, Steven and Canaan Garner of Morrison; daughter-in-law Lenda Rigsby of Smithville; two sisters Elvera Graysneck of Oklahoma, Mary (Robert) Birch of Kentucky; brother Marvin Gooch of Kentucky; sister-in-law Revina Henry of Michigan; brother-in-law Jackie (Frances) Rigsby of Smithville; and a special friend Jimmy Taylor of Smithville.
Serving as pallbearers Steven Garner, Dale Garner, Brad Evans, Jackie Darrell Rigsby, Gill Gooch, Leslie Moore.
Love-Cantrell Funeral Home, Smithville, was in charge of the arrangements.
