Carl Martin

Mr. Carl "Tooter" Martin, age 59, of Smithville passed away Saturday, November 6, 2021 at St. Thomas DeKalb Hospital.

 

He had worked in Construction and was of the Baptist faith. 

 

Mr. Martin was born on April 25, 1962 in Smithville to his parents, the late Johnny Lee and Ruby Mae Martin Norman and a step-father, Oscar Norman.

 

Survivors include four children, Whitney Martin, Jeremiah Martin and Chantal Martin all of Smithville and Malachi Martin of Manchester; three grandchildren, Kiara Martin, Krislyn Martin and Jazzalina Sullivan; two sisters, Shirley McCoy Reedy of Smithville and Christina (Jonathon) Young of Manchester brother, Ronnie Reedy of Smithville; two nieces,  Brittany (Jonathon) Hardison of Brentwood and Kennedy Norman Young of Manchester; nephew, Jermaine McCoy of Smithville;  great nephew, Oscar Norman Hardison of Brentwood, ; three aunts, Peggy (James) Owens of Smithville, Zeda Norman of Manchester and Mary McCoy of Smithville who was like a second mother to him; uncle, Carl (Shirley) Norman of California; two cousins sharing a special bond, Vickey Hayes Gwynn of Cookeville and Jeff League of Smithville. A host of cousins and friends also survive.

 

Funeral service was held on Tuesday, November 9, 2021 and burial followed at DeKalb Cemetery. 

 

Pallbearers were Antwon McCoy, Jeff League, Anthony Tubbs, Malach Martin, Daniel Derrick Hill, Jermaica League, Jason Odom, and June Bug Burns.

 

Love-Cantrell Funeral Home, Smithville, was in charge of the arrangements.
