Mr. Lash R. Rice, age 71 of Smithville passed away Saturday morning, August 14, 2021 at his home.

 He was retired from Smithville Food Center and had been a minister since 1983 having pastored the Keltonburg Missionary Baptist Church.

 Mr. Lash was born on October 22, 1949 in Barbourville, KY to his parents, the late William and Greenie Smith Rice

 Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Kathy Hafstad Rice; two sons, Scott (Alice) Rice and Jason (Alisa) Rice, all of Smithville; five grandchildren, Megan and Joshua Rice, Jordan Zurcher, Ivy and Kelsa Rice all of Smithville; two great grandchildren, Brandon and Eva June Buchanan of Beth Page; special friends for over 50 years, Tom and Claudia Hafstad of Smithville. Several Cousins also survive.   

 Funeral service were held on Sunday, August 15, 2021 from the chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Bro. Tom Hafstad & Bro. David Dodd officiated with burial following at DeKalb Memorial Gardens.

 Pallbearers were Scott Rice, Jason Rice, David Dodd, Dawn Lawson, Adam Lawson and Megan Rice.

 Love-Cantrell Funeral Home, Smithville, was in charge of arrangements.
