Memorial services for Mr. miller
Memorial services for Mr. Richard “Tom” Miller, 58, of Smithville will be held Sept. 21 at 7 p.m. at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. Michael Hale and Jeffrey Miller will be officiating.   
Mr. Miller passed away Sept. 17 at Southern Hills Medical Center in Nashville. 
Tom was a graduate of Putnam County Senior High School in 1971. He was a three-year letterman of the football team, served as captain his senior year and elected Mr. Cavalier.  He also graduated from Tennessee Tech University in 1976 with a BS in business management, Tennessee School of Banking in 1979; LSU School of Banking of the South in 1983, School of Bank Marketing at University of Colorado in 1985; Graduate School of Bank Marketing at University of Colorado in 1986. He was employed by Citizens Bank in Cookeville from June 1974 to June 1987, where he advanced from teller to a vice- president; Nov. 1988 to Nov. 1996 he was employed by DeKalb County Bank/Union Planters Bank as Bank Vice-President; Jan. 1997-May 1999 he was the founder and owner of DeKalb Finance in Smithville; and July 1999 he took the position of Liberty State Bank Vice-President.
He was preceded in death by his mother Mary Earleen Miller.
Survivors include his wife Gail Miller of Smithville; daughter, Jessica Miller of Atlanta, Ga.; son, Jeff Miller of Cookeville; step-sons, Billy (Linda) Zaderiko of Smithville; Jess Zaderiko of Florida; step-daughter, January (Josh) Agee of Liberty; grandchildren, Zach Odom, Devin Zaderiko, Josh Zaderiko, Kennedy Agee, Jaxon Zaderiko and James Zaderiko; father, Charles R. Miller of Cookeville; brothers, Mike (Lynne) Miller of Knoxville and Bob (Judy) Miller of Cookeville; sister, Lynda Miller of Nashville; and several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family asked that donations be made to the American Lung Allociation or the West Cemetery Trust Fund in Cookeville.
DeKalb Funeral Chapel, LLC, was in charge of the arrangements.
