Wade Smith

Mr. Wade Smith, Jr., age 79, of Smithville  passed away on Saturday, August 27, 2022 at St. Thomas Midtown Hospital in Nashville.

 

Wade served his country in the United States Army and he later worked at T.R.W. retiring in 2003. He was a member of Northside Church of Christ & also served as a Zoning Commissioner and on the Planning Commission for the City of Smithville.   

 

Mr. Smith was born on June 23, 1943 in Alexandria to his parents, the late Wade, Sr and Carrie Helen Griffith Smith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Edward Wayne Smith; and two sisters, Carrie Dean Bass and Barbara Ann Smith.

 

Funeral services was held on Thursday, September 1, 2022 in the chapel of Love - Cantrell Funeral Home. Burial followed at DeKalb Memorial Gardens with Military Honors provided by the Veterans Honor Guard.

 

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Jacqueline Neal Smith of Smithville; two sons,  Christopher Wade (Mary Carlene) Smith of Murfreesboro, and Brandon Edward Smith of Smithville; two  grandchildren, Salena and Nate Smith both of Murfreesboro; two brothers,  James (Mary) Smith of Alexandria and Billy Ray Smith of Nashville.

 

Pallbearers included Lee Fisk, Anthony Tubbs, Darren Dilligard, Kenny Dyal and Tavius Barnes.

Flower Ladies included Billie Ann Tubbs-Trigueros, Annette Evans, Mary Knowles, Gwynda League, Angela Tubbs and Ava Lyons. 

 

Love-Cantrell Funeral Home, Smithville, was in charge of the arrangements.
