Mr. William Leffel Redmon, age 91, of Smithville passed away early Wednesday morning at his residence.

He was retired after employment of 12 years at Genesco and 24 years at Carrier Corporation and also a member of The Baptist Tabernacle.

He was born in Smithville on July 19, 1932 to his parents, the late Christopher Lee and Eliza Jane Martin Redmon. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a brother, Jackson Lee Redmon; and one sister, Lucille Beshearse.

Survivors include his wife of 73 years, Ophylnn France Redmon; one daughter, Sonia (Kenneth) Vinson of Cloverport, TN; and one sister, Gail (Paul) Blair of Smithville.

Funeral service was held on Saturday, June 15, 2024 in the chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home and burial followed in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. Brother Martin Bell officiated.

Pallbearers were Clyde Sullivan, Junior Martin, Dwight Nokes, Lane Poss, Danny France, Jon Foutch, Casey France, and Jared Box.

Love-Cantrell Funeral Home, Smithville, was in charge of the arrangements.
