Mr. WJ Page, age 85 of Alexandria passed away on Friday, January 15, 2021 at Vanderbilt Wilson County Hospital in Lebanon.
WJ was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church in Lebanon. He served as a Military Policeman in the Army National Guard. As a young man, WJ attended the Stamps-Baxter School of Music where he developed his love for singing gospel music at a young age. Over the next 50 plus years WJ and his family, the Page Family, would sing in churches and gospel singings all over the area. He was a Song Leader, Sunday School Teacher and a Deacon in church over the many years he served the Lord. He was a Supervisor at Work Wear Corp. in Alexandria most of his life and later retired from S&W Manufacturing.
WJ was born on May 19, 1935 in Watertown to his parents, the late Cecil and Ivy Judkins Page. Also preceding him in death was his wife, Barbara Cantrell Page; two sisters, Wilma Parkerson and Mildred Page; two brothers, Hobert Page and Lionel Page.
Survivors include his Children, Denise Page, Daryl and Renee Page, Darrin Page all of Smithville, and Jamie and Melissa Page of Gallatin; grandchildren, Jared and Jamie Lyn Dawson, Leslie Brook Page, Johnathan Page and fiancé Makencie Locke all of Smithville and Alyssa Page of Gallatin; great-grandchildren Madison and Mason Dawson, and Laylani Page; one brother, Robert and Bobbie Page of Mt. Juliet, TN.
Funeral service was held on Monday, January 18, 2021 from the chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Bro. Glen Denton and Bro. Mike Shelby officiated with burial following in at DeKalb Cemetery.
Love-Cantrell Funeral Home, Smithville, was in charge of the arrangements.
