Chapman

Mrs. Dean Chapman, 77, of the Gassaway Community passed away Friday afternoon, March 4, 2016 at her residence.

Dean was born September 5, 1938 to her parents, Clyde and Stacey Mayo Preston.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Junior and Ray Preston; one sister, Alene Reed.

She was a member of the Clear Fork United Methodist Church and was a retired shirt factory worker and farmer.

She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Toy B. Chapman of Liberty; one daughter, Kathy (Doug) Summers of Liberty; two grandsons, Richard Dale Simmons Jr. and Albert (Abby) Summers; four great-grandchildren, Hailey Summers, Johnna Summers, Kaitlyn Simmons, Emily Simmons; loving friend, Lisa Simmons.

Funeral services were conducted March 7, 2016 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. Bro. Tommy Davis and Bobby Charles Martin officiated with burial following in Gunter Grizzly Cemetery.

Pallbearers included: Albert Summers, Dale Summers, Robin Summers, Roger Chapman, Jerry Reed, and Curly Reed.

Honorary Pallbearers: Billy Ray Preston, David Mayo, and Bob Mayo

DeKalb Funeral Chapel, Smithville were in charge of the arrangements.
