Mrs. Effie Lee Ellis, age 97, of Smithville passed away Tuesday evening at her residence.
She was a retired factory worker and attended the Mt. Herman Baptist Church. She loved and adored her family.
She was born on November 20, 1925 in Smithville to her parents, William and Mary Elizabeth Tramel who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Glen Ellis; brother and sister-in-law, L.C. & Lorene Tramel.
She is survived by one niece, Janice Ward of Smithville; one nephew Larry (Wanda) Tramel of Liberty; three great nieces, Natasha (Randy) Vaughn, Resha Hattaway and Rena (Johnathon) Willoughby all of Smithville; great nephew, Lincoln Tramel of Liberty; great great nephews, Drake (Amanda) Vaughn, Quentin (Ashley) Cook, Zack Snyder and Jathan Willoughby; great great nieces, Lydia Willoughby and Ellie Vaughn; great great great nephews and niece, Aiden Cook, Amelia Vaughn and Asher Vance all of Smithiville. Lydia and Jathan Willoughby were her pride and joy.
Funeral service was held Friday, Sept. 29, 2023 in the chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Bro. Mike Gay and Bro. Johnathon Willoughby officiated and burial followed in DeKalb Memorial Gardens.
Serving as pallbearers were Randy Vaughn, Lincoln Tramel, Drake Vaughn, Quentin Cook, Zack Snyder, Jathan Willoughby and Aiden Cook.
Donations may be made to Mt. Herman Baptist Church Youth Group.
Love-Cantrell Funeral Home, Smithville, was in charge of the arrangements.
