Mrs. Janie Lou McCarty, age 67 of Antioch, TN and a DeKalb County native passed away on Sunday, April 12, 2020 at Select Medical Hospital in Nashville. 

Janie was born August 26, 1952 in Smithville to her parents, the late J. G. Blankenship and Vestie Pack Greene. She was a homemaker and attended the Gilroy Church of Christ at Cain Ridge, TN. 

In accordance with the Governors Executive Order Number 17 regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, there will be no public visitation held with the family. A private graveside service for the family was held on Thursday, April 16, 2020 at Corinth Cemetery.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Harold and Carl Blankenship.

Survivors include her husband of 49 years, David McCarty; and a son, Michael McCarty both of Antioch, TN’ sister, Sandy Bratcher of McMinnville.

Love-Cantrell Funeral Home, Smithville, was in charge of the arrangements.
