Mrs. Reba Mae Knowles, age 93, of Smithville passed away Friday morning, April 24, 2020 at the Webb House Retirement Home.
She was born on April 8, 1927 in Smithville to her parents, the late Everett and Wilma Taylor Poss.
Mrs. Reba
was a member of Mt. View The Baptist Church and was retired from the DeKalb
County School System having worked at the Middle School.
In accordance with the Governors Executive Order Number 17 regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, there was no public visitation. Private graveside service for the family was held on Sunday, April 26, 2020 at Young Bend Cemetery. Bro. Dwight Knowles officiated.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Clifton Knowles; daughter, Sandra Knowles; three brothers, Clifton, Mason and Glynn Poss.
Survivors include her son, Dwight (Donna) Knowles and daughter, Vickie Knowles both of Smithville; two grandchildren, Shelly (Chad) Jennings and Jared (Karen) Knowles both of Smithville; four great-grandchildren, Hunter and Emma Jennings, Isaac and Katherine Knowles; brother, Dean Poss of Smithville; sister, Wanda (Edd) Hidgon of Gallatin; sisters-in-law, John Ann Poss of Smithville, Peggy Poss and Ina Mae Cantrell both of Nashville. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
In addition to flowers, donations can be made to the Young Bend Cemetery Fund in memory of Mrs. Reba.
