Ms. Ada Ruth Tittle, 81, of Portland passed away Thursday February 18, 2021 at her residence.
Ms. Ada Ruth was a child of God, a homemaker and farmer.
She was born July 1, 1939 to her parents the late John Adam and Mary Elizabeth "Lizzie" Jennings Tittle. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband David Lee Lanier; son, John Wayne Lanier; brothers, Jack, Henry, Mack, and John Tittle, Jr;: sisters, Betty Tennessee Linear, Rosie Murphy, Mai Tittle, and Ethel Lee Cassity.
She is survived by her son David C. Linear "Sam Bo"; step-daughter, Carolyn Rose Basham; five grandchildren, Jerry Ray, Jessie, Jennifer, Kim, and Frankie; 18 great-grandchildren; 1 sister, Charlene Rogers; special niece and nephew, Ruth (Charlie) Lawson and Danny Bradley; a host of cousins, nephews, and nieces; and her special pet, Polly.
Funeral service was held Wednesday, February 24, 2021 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bro. Charlie Lawson officiating. Burial followed in Jennings Cemetery.
Pallbearers included Jessie Stradtner, Jerry Lee Stradtner, Danny Bradley, David F. Lanier, Bruce Cantrell, and Timmy Cole.
DeKalb Funeral Chapel, Smithville, was in charge of the arrangements.
