Ms. Florence Mabel Pack, age 96, of Smithville passed away on Saturday at her daughters residence in McMinnville.  

 

Ms. Pack was preceded in death by her parents, Percy and Rebecca Ferguson; husband, John Lee Pack; daughter, Pamela Atnip; son, Willard Pack; great-grandchild, Abigail Pack.

 

She was a member of Mt. Herman Baptist Church, loved to crochet and knit, read, and to flower garden. She met her husband while he was stationed in Australia during WWII. They married and later she was able to cross the Pacific to the United States on a ship called the Mariposa with hundreds of other Australians (War Brides) who married US service men. She was accompanied by her daughter on the ship who was just a small child. 

 

She is survived by her daughter, Valerie (John) Mears of McMinnville and son, Robin (Deborah) Pack of Smithville; 11 Grandchildren; 13 Great-grandchildren; three great great-grandchildren; brother: Ted Ferguson of Australia; sister, Elise Ferguson of Australia; several half-brothers and half-sisters of Australia

 

Visitation with the family will be on Wednesday from noon until the time of services at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home with Bro. Johnathon Willoughby officiating. Burial will follow in Keith Cemetery.
