Murphy
Ray Thomas Murphy of Dowelltown, a native of Woodbury, passed away May 1 at NHC in Smithville.
He was 70. Ray had a passion for building houses, and worked construction for most of his adult life.
He was born December 7, 1944 to the late Ed and Liz Murphy and Martha Mai Murphy.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Ray Jr. and Bryan Murphy; sisters, Lela Finley, Ines Davenport, Allie Allan and Ruth Fletcher; brothers, Joe Murphy, Clifton Murphy and Howard Murphy.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Mary H. Baker Murphy of Dowelltown; grandchildren, Jon (Jamie) Murphy of Joelton, Nathanyel (Natasha) Pedigo of Smithville, and Trenton (Kim) Pedigo of Smithville; sisters, Magaline Davenport, Betty (Dooluy) Green, and Arlene (Larry) Sanders; brother, Roy Murphy; eight great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, family and friends also survive.
Funeral services were held May 5 in the Chapel of Woodbury Funeral Home. Bro. Timothy Baker officiated with interment following in the Sycamore Cemetery.
Pallbearers included; David Dodd, David Gaither, Joey Howell, Jon Murphy, Nathanyel Pedigo, and Trenton Pedigo.
