Nonnie Bell Johnson, 96
Nonnie Bell Johnson, 96, of Liberty, went home to be with the Lord, Monday morning June 24 at NHC HealthCare Center in Smithville.
She was a member of Cave Springs Missionary Baptist Church and a caregiver.
She was born March 2, 1923 to her parents, the late Robert Vernon "Bob" and Willie Mammie Adamson Mathis. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Johnson; son, Billy Johnson; two grandsons, Tony Johnson and Bryan Johnson; brothers, J.C. Mathis and Carl Mathis.

She leaves to cherish her memory, son, Wallace (Joyce) Johnson of Liberty; daughter-in-law, Judy Johnson of Liberty; seven grandchildren, Teresa (Larry) Caldwell, David (Emily) Johnson, Rhonda (Charles) Caplinger, Sissy (Craig) Cooper, Trena (Tony) Collins, Travis (Brandi) Johnson, Mandi Parker and Kim Carr; three step-grandchildren, one step-great-grandchild; 19 great-grandchildren; 15 great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service was held Wednesday, June 26 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Stephen Brooks and Michael Hale officiating. Burial followed in Salem Cemetery in Liberty. Pallbearers included Todd Dodd, Ryan Dodd, Gary Mathis, Travis Johnson, David Johnson, and Dustin Johnson.
DeKalb Funeral Chapel, Smithville, was in charge of the arrangements.
