Ms. Oleta Hale, age 86, of Smithville passed away Monday afternoon September 24, 2018 at her daughter's residence. She was a member of the Mt. Moriah Baptist Church, worked in a bakery, shirt factory and was a homemaker.
She was born to her parents, the late Houston Gray and Ella Mae Ashford Hobbs.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Bud Hale; Brothers: Arnold Hobbs, Harrison Hobbs, Bill Hobbs, Sammy Hobbs; Sister: Juanita Ferrell; Son-in-law: Larry "Horse" Ferrell.
Survivors include Daughter: Starr Ferrell of Smithville; Grandchildren: Jarrod Dodd of Liberty, Sherranna (Bobby) Walker of Winchester; Great-Grandchildren: Hunter, Ava & Sophia Walker; Nieces: Brenda Gregory, Frances (John) Clark, Debbie (Jack) Tauber, Anita Ferrell, Robin Ferrell, Judy Pack, Sandra (Mike) Tisdale, Murriana Herman; Nephews: Doyle Hobbs, Wilburn (Janice) Hobbs, Steven Hobbs; Brother: John Hobbs of Liberty; daughter-in-law, Frances Shultz.
Funeral Service was held Thursday September 27, 2018 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bros. Leonard Herman and Michael Hale officiating and burial following in DeKalb Cemetery.
Pallbearers included Jarrod Dodd, Wilburn Hobbs, Doyle Hobbs, Jack Tauber, Bobby Walker, David Cantrell, Hunter Walker, and Mike Dodd.
DeKalb Funeral Chapel, Smithville, was in charge of the arrangements.
