Oneda Jane Waggoner, age 91, of Smithville passed away at her residence Tuesday, July 18, 2023.

 

Mrs. Waggoner was a homemaker and attended New West Point Freewill Baptist Church. 

 

She was born on March 25, 1932 to her parents Harvey and Effie Ford Montgomery who preceded her in death. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Grady Waggoner; grandson, Samuel Wright; three brothers and one sister-in-law, Kenneth and Helen Montgomery, Gary Glen Montgomery and Cordial Montgomery; two sisters and three brothers-in-law, Marthena and H.O. Allison, Sharon and Mike Rhoten and Clem Sczech. 

 

She is survived by one son, Jerome Waggoner; one daughter, Teresa (John) Wright; one granddaughter, Olivia (Ivan) Beale; two great-grandchildren, Wyatt Samuel and Connor Brooks Beale; special caregiver, Sue Arnold all of Smithville; two sisters, Donna (Jerry) Moore of Baxter and Minnie Sczech of Texas. 

 

Funeral service was held Saturday, July 22 at Love-Cantrell Funeral Home chapel. Brother Davey Horton and Sister Sheila Machado officiated and burial followed in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. 

 

Pallbearers were Eric Parks, Gary Moore, Ivan Beale, Keith Maynard, and Terry Burton. 

 

Love-Cantrell Funeral Home, Smithville, was in charge of the arrangements.
