Opal M. Cripps Jones, age 96, passed away at her residence, September 7, 2016. She was a native of DeKalb County and a resident of Rutherford County. Opal was a member of Salem Creek Church of Christ.

Opal was preceded in death by her parents, Livie L. and Era Pearl Elledge Cripps; husband, Clyde Phillip Jones of 78 years; siblings, Ray Cripps, Carl Cripps, Hilda Cripps, Allene Keith, Josephine Cripps and Opha Turner; daughter-in-law, Shirley G. Jones; and granddaughter, Angela (Jones) Maraschiello.

She is survived by her sons Larry (Gail) Jones of Phoenix, AZ, Michael and Roger Jones of Murfreesboro, and daughter Debbie (Jim) Fuller of Murfreesboro; 6 grandchildren, Karen (Frank) Soto of Edgewood, NM, Susan Jones, of Phoenix, AZ, Brian (Carole Ann) Jones of Las Vegas, NV, Kevin Jones of Murfreesboro, Josh (Jessica) Fuller of Gallatin, TN, and Victoria (Jason) Melhorn of Murfreesboro; 10 great grandchildren, Dalton, Hunter, Matthew, Sidney, Riley, Leah, Greysen, Averie, Jaxson, and Waylon; brothers, Thomas (Georgia) Cripps of Alexandria, Lloyd (Jessie) Cripps of Hendersonville; sisters, Corinne Clark of Hendersonville, and Doris Rowland of Lebanon.

A Chapel service was held on Sunday, September 11, 2016 at Jennings and Ayers. Ron Harper and Joshua Houston officiated. Burial followed in Milton Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers.

The family would like to thank Caris Healthcare and her caregivers for their compassionate hospice care.
