Pamela Sharon Miller, age 70, of Smithville, passed away Sunday night, August 6, 2023 at St. Thomas West Hospital in Nashville.

She was born October 23, 1952 to her parents, the late Austin Scurlock and Emma Ruth Vanatta Scurlock.

Pamela was a retired school teacher with the DeKalb County Board of Education and held Advanced Degrees in Education from Tennessee Tech University.  She was a member of the Elizabeth Chapel Baptist Church where she enjoyed singing in the church choir.  

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Larry Scurlock.

She is survived by two sons, Bradley Miller of Watertown and Brandon (Becky) Miller of Smithville; two grandsons, Jordan Miller and Mason Miller of Watertown; two brothers, Danny (Teresa) Scurlock and Jeff (Debbie) Scurlock all of Smithville; two sisters, Janice Johnson of Smithville and Donna (Terry) Caldwell of Van Buren County; 1 sister-in-law, Peggy Scurlock of Brooks, KY. 

Funeral service was held on Wednesday, August 9, 2023 at the chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Bro. Bill Roberson and Bro. Scott Pack officiated, and burial followed at DeKalb Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers included Craig Hale, Jordan Miller, Ethan Duke, Daneil Leslie, Tony Cross, Aaron Young, Johnny Pack and Mason Miller.

Love-Cantrell Funeral Home, Smithville, was in charge of the arrangements.
