Funeral services for Tony Estes Patterson, 72, of Smithville were held September 2 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel.

Bro. Garry McBride officiated with burial following in DeKalb Memorial Gardens.

He passed away August 31 at Saint Thomas Rutherford Hospital in Murfreesboro.

Tony was born September 30, 1942 to his parents, the late Albert and Virgil Estes Patterson.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a step-son, Nathan Jones.

He was a member of The Baptist Tabernacle, served in the National Guard and was a former restaurant owner.

He is survived by his wife, Cathy Patterson of Smithville; seven children, Rickey (Terri) Patterson of Smithville, Jeffrey Patterson of Sparta, Penny (Michael) Edwards, Stephen Patterson, Travis Patterson, Nate Patterson, and Josh Jones all of Smithville; nine grandchildren; one sister, Bruna Fleming of Boca Raton, FL; two brothers, A.W. Patterson of Mt. Juliet, and Jeloy Patterson of Smithville.

Pallbearers included; Tyler Patterson, Hunter Patterson, Collin Patterson, Chris Patterson, B.J. Patterson, Adrian Patterson, and Stephen Patterson.
