Funeral service for Paul Frank Parton, age 95, of Smithville was held November 7, 2017 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. Bro. Michael Hale officiated. Military Honors was conducted by the Veterans Honor Guard and burial followed in Evergreen Cemetery in Murfreesboro.

Mr. Parton passed away November 3, 2017 at the Whitehouse Health and Rehab. He was a Pentecostal, served in the U.S. Army being in WWII and received two purple hearts

He was born July 30, 1922 to his parents, the late Hall Canady and Willie Florence Hill Parton.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Jo Taylor Parton; granddaughter, Melissa Hunt; three brothers, Sterling, Ralph and Roscoe Parton and a sister, Evelyn Vick.

He is survived by his daughter, Shirley (Don) Jones of Bowling Green, KY; one granddaughter, Karri (Charlie) Provance of Bowling Green; five great-grandchildren, Dusty and Kristi Hunt, Gavin, Olivia and Wyatt Provance; one great-great-grandson, Elias Hunt; one sister, Marie Waggoner of Murfreesboro and one brother-in-law, James Fuson of Nashville

DeKalb Funeral Chapel, Smithville, was in charge of the arrangements.
