 Funeral services for Ms. Ressie “Bill” Luna, 89, of Johnson Chapel Community, were held December 20 at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Bro. Paul Taylor and Bro. Paul Neal officiated with burial following in Peeled Chestnut Cemetery.

She passed away December 18 at her residence.

She was a homemaker and affiliated with the Johnson Chapel Freewill Baptist Church. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Rufus Luna; parents, William Richard and Minnie Acuff Luna; four brothers, Burt, Hack, Wayne, and Otis Luna; two infant sisters.

She is survived by one daughter, Bonnie and Marco Chacon of Sparta; two sons, Larry and Angela Luna, and Dwight and Maria Luna of Sparta; seven grandchildren, Lisa Haycox, Larry Luna, Heather Guy, Brian Luna, Angel and Erick Chacon, and Kristi Gallahand; four great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; three sisters, Margaret Moore of Nashville, Bee Cook of Dickson, and Jessie Hawkings of Alabama; one brother, Ernest Luna of Colorado; Special care giver, Veronica Cantrell of Sparta.

Pallbearers included; Larry David Luna, Archie Cantrell, Eric Chacon, John Cunningham, Kenneth Colwell, Jerry Luna and Danny Luna.

Love-Cantrell Funeral Home, Smithville was in charge of the arrangements.
