Reverend Robert Jewell Presley, 84, of Smithville passed away Tuesday, Aug. 7 at his residence.

He was a minister for 55 years and a member of the Peoples Pentecostal Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Elijah Joseph and Shelly Lawrence Presley; daughter, Patsy Ann Rachel; a son, Robert Dwayne Presley; grandsons, Robert Jewel Presley and Richard Justin Presley; son-in-law, Timothy Corey; and four brothers and two sisters.

Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Eula Lawson Presley of Smithville. Seven daughters, Phyllis and James Brown of Sparta, Jackie and Larry Worley of North Carolina, Linda and Thomas Theiss of Smithville, Evie and Jeffery Miller of Ohio, Pamela Corey of Smithville, Teresa and Timothy Simmons of Illinois, and Babbie Presley of Smithville; 24 grandchildren, 46 great grandchildren, and 27 great-great-grandchildren along with a brother, Donald and Joy Presley of Columbus.
Funeral service was held Friday, Aug. 10 at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Jason Nunley, Thomas Hewell, and Timothy Simmons officiated with burial following in DeKalb Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were Cornelius Perry, Sean and Michael Blake, Regan Presley, Edwin Crawford, Jonathan Summers, Paul Fultz and Melissa Hoomes.

Love-Cantrell Funeral Home of Smithville was in charge of the arrangements.
