Rex Leroy Jones, age 86, of Smithville passed away on Sunday, January 16, 2022, at Saint Thomas Midtown in Nashville.

He was born April 6, 1935 in Mohawk, Tenn. the son of the late Samuel and Myrtle McGuffin Jones.

He is survived by his wife, Vonda Sharon Jones of Smithville; son, Randall Alan (Janet) Jones of Bulls Gap; daughter, Peggy (A.G.) Roberts of McMinnville; sister, Betty (Jimmie) Louise Higgins of Greeville; step-children, Paul Luna (Mindy) of Smithville, Paula Webber (Larry) of KY,  Phillip Luna (Alisha) of Sparta  and Pamela Rutledge (JR) of McMinnville; grandchildren,  Joshua Jones, Rachael Bowman, Loretta Young and Jennifer Roberts Many other family members also survive.

Graveside services was held Saturday, January 22, 2022 at Oak Lawn Memorial Cemetery with Jimmy Barrett officiating.

Oak Lawn Funeral Home, Sparta, was in charge of the arrangements.
