Funeral services for Rex Ray Redmon, 68, of Smithville, were held Sept. 20 at the chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Bro. Bobby Thompson officiated with burial following at Whorton Springs Cemetery.   
Mr. Redmon passed away Sept. 18 at DeKalb Community Hospital. He was a carrier and affiliated with the Baptist Church.
 He was preceded in death by his wife,  Leeta Hawkins Redmon; parents, Hershel and Ammie Sue Barkes Redmon; two brothers, Ralph and Lewis Redmon; six sisters, Mammie Driver, Mary Redmon, Ella Mae Jones, Ravnail Redmon, Sadie Pearl Sandlin and Beulah Caldwell.
Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Nancy Marie and James Tallas Cantrell, of Smithville; granddaughter, Talisa Marie Cantrell, of Smithville; two brothers, Reed Redmon, of Smithville, and Ernest and Linda Redmon, of McMinnville.
Pallbearers included David Redmon, Timmie Adcock, Lanny Sandlin, Terry Hale, Nelson Sandlin and Jeremy Green.
Love-Cantrell Funeral Home, Smithville, was in charge of the arrangements.
