Funeral services for Kenny L. Rhody, 49, of Smithville were held Sept. 27 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. Bros. Donnie Kelly and Jeff Armstrong officiated with burial following at DeKalb Memorial Gardens.

 

Kenny passed away Sept. 24 at his residence.

 

Kenny was born July 26, 1965 to the late Billy Rhody and June Taylor Rhody.

 

Kenny was a former Smithville Police Officer, DeKalb County Volunteer Fireman and a DeKalb County School Board Member from 2002 until 2014.

 

He was a member of the Smithville Church of God.

 

Survivors include his daughter, Cora Beth Rhody of Smithville; granddaughter, Aydalyn Elizabeth Cook of Smithville; mother, June Rhody of Smithville; brother, Myron (Cindy) Rhody of Dowelltown; nephews, Colton Rhody and Danny (Nicole) Fish of Smithville; niece, Brandi (Anthony) Bennett of Texas; two uncles, Jimmy Taylor of Dowelltown, and Boyd (Maxine) Rhody of the Green Hill Community; several cousins and special cousin, Jan Taylor of Dowelltown.

 

Pallbearers included; Mark Willoughby, Bebo Trapp, Mike Trapp, Colton Rhody, Eric Peterson, David Pedigo, Stan Williams, Danny Fish, and Scott Cantrell.

 

Honorary Pallbearers; Joey and Karen Bailey, Charles Cantrell, Mike Nokes, and Leonard Redmon.
