Ricky James Stewart, age 55, of Smithville passed away Wednesday, May 16, 2018 at his residence. He was a Baptist and mechanic and owner of Rick's Automotive.

Funeral service was held Saturday, May 19, 2018 at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Nathan Thomason officiated and burial followed in DeKalb Cemetery.

Rick was a dedicated family man. He was forever in love with his wife. His boys were the highlight of his days. He loved being able to guide them in their adventures and teaching them new things. He was looking forward to spending time with his grandchildren. He loved his customers and would always make sure they were taken care of. He was a devoted friend to many.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James T. and Mary Sellars Stewart.

Survivors include his wife of 29 years Gail Stewart of Smithville; two sons, Colt and Lacey Stewart and Hunter and Jessica Stewart of Smithville; two grandchildren, Syrus and Evie Stewart of Smithville and a sister, Patty Hunter of Cookeville. Several good friends also survive.

Serving as pallbearers were Van Parchman, Trey Finley, Paul Rowland, Danny Phillips, Carl (Willie) Tyler, Keith Franklin, Michael Maynard, Ryan Mollinet and Hunter Stewart.

Love-Cantrell Funeral Home, Smithville, was in charge of the arrangements.
