Ricky Lynn Murphy, age 55, passed away, Sunday September 17, 2023, at his residence.

Mr. Murphy attended Outreach Baptist Church and worked in Nursery.

He was born July 6, 1968, to his parents the late L. C. and Patty Neal Murphy. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Bruce Murphy; and sister, Martha Sue Murphy.

He is survived by his wife, Melissa Murphy of Smithville; two sons, Cody (Michaela) Murphy of Smithville, and Alex Murphy of Smithville; eight grandchildren, Brayden, Austin, Colby, Trey, Alton, Colton, Hunter and Elizabeth; two sisters, Lisa Bain, Teesha (Keith) Reynolds of Smithville; three brothers, Curtis (Pam) Murphy of Indiana, Calvin (Angel) Murphy of Indiana and Sherman Murphy of Smithville; brother-in-law and best friend, Dickie Ray Bain; close family friend, Melinda Murphy; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral service was held Friday, September 22, 2023, at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bro. Nathan Thomason officiating and burial followed in DeKalb Cemetery.

The family ask donations may be made to DeKalb Funeral Chapel to help with funeral expenses.

Pallbearers included Austin Murphy, Brayden Murphy, Alex Murphy, Brad Murphy, L.C. Murphy, and Calvin Murphy. Honorary Pallbearer was Colby Murphy.

DeKalb Funeral Chapel, Smithville, was in charge of the arrangements.
