Funeral services Willie Lee Rigsby, 88, of Smithville were held April 23 at the Chapel of DeKalb Funeral Chapel. Bro. David Frazier and Bro. Mike Carpenter officiated, with burial following in DeKalb Memorial Gardens.
He passed away April 21 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville.
He was born December 12, 1926 to the late Martin Luther and Sallie Ann Pack Rigsby.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, May Rigsby; son, Dennis Rigsby; brother, Elijah Rigsby; sister, Ruby Cook.
Willie was a self-employed used automotive dealer, member of Liberty Lodge #77, member of Spring Street The Baptist Church and was a U.S. Army veteran having served in the Korean Conflict.
He is survived by one brother, Jackie (Frances) Rigsby of Smithville; daughter-in-law, Lenda Rigsby of Smithville; grandchildren, Shannon (Dale) Garner of McMinnville, and Tommy (Susanne) Rigsby of Oregon; great-grandchildren, Piper Rigsby, Steven Garner and Canaan Garner; brother-in-law, Marvin Gooch of Kentucky; sister-in-law, Mary (Robert) Birch of Kentucky; two nieces, Vicky Smith and Lori Ann Nokes; one nephew, Jackie Darrell Rigsby; special friend, Jimmy Taylor of Smithville.
Pallbearers included; Jack Patterson, Dale Garner, Steven Garner, Jimmy Taylor, Brad Evans, and Gil Gooch.
Honorary Pallbearer; David Redmon.
