Rita Fay Taylor, age 53 of Smithville, passed away on Thursday, October 3, 2019 at St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital in Murfreesboro. 

She was a Baptist and a homemaker. 

She was preceded in death by her father, Norval Caldwell; mother, Alma Jean Shehane Swofford; step-father, Doug Swofford; and brother, Jackie Caldwell. 

Visitation with the family will be at the Love-Cantrell Chapel on Saturday from 11:00 am until 8:00 pm and on Sunday from 10:00 am until time of the service at 2:00 pm.  Burial will follow in the Whorton Springs Cemetery.

Rita is survived by her husband of 38 years, Jimmie Taylor of Smithville; daughter, Heather and Kevin Williams of Smithville; step-son, Roger and Shonda Taylor of McMinnville; grandchildren, Beth and Belle Reed of Smithville, Christian and Kendra Taylor of McMinnville, and Casey Taylor of McMinnville; brother, Adam and Sue Caldwell of Smithville; sisters, Eva and Carl Bandy and Frances and Tommy Cates, all of Smithville;  several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and friends also survive.

Funeral service was held Sunday, Oct. 6, 2019 in the chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Bro. Randall Hunt and Bro. Jason Lohorn officiated. Burial followed in Whorton Springs Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers were Allen Reeder, Jr., Ronnie Lattimore, David and John Kilgore, Jerry Wayne Taylor and Alex Keith.

Love-Cantrell Funeral Home, Smithville, was in charge of the arrangements.
