Funeral services for Robert Bratten Bailiff, 88, of Dowelltown, were held Nov. 26 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. Bro. Michael Hale and Bro. Wayne Malone officiated with burial following in Salem Cemetery.   
Mr. Bailiff passed away Nov. 22 at NHC Healthcare Center. He was a factory worker, school bus driver and former owner of Dowelltown Cash Market. Mr. Bailiff was also a member and Deacon of Dowelltown Baptist Church. 
 He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Nesmith and Fannie Gertrude Huggins Bailiff; wife, Louise Gibbs Bailiff; grandchildren, Jeff and Tara Frazier; daughter-in-law, Joyce Bailiff; son-in-law, Henry Frazier; and a brother, Fuson Bailiff.
Survivors include his four children, Bobbie (Harold) Lanier, of Mt. Juliet, Robert Bratten Bailiff Jr., of Alexandria, Ann (Garion) Frazier, of Liberty, and Doris (Edward) James, of Liberty; 10 grandchildren, Kaye Lytle, Bob Lanier, June Keith, Gerald Bailiff, Ricky Bailiff, Tiwanda Hall, Garnette Taylor, Denise Griffith, Kerri Wiser and Steven Frazier; 16 grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and a nephew, Gid Bailiff, of Woodbury.
Pallbearers included Bob Lanier, Rick Bailiff, Gerald Bailiff, Steven Frazier, Davy Lytle and Tommy Taylor.
DeKalb Funeral Chapel, Smithville, was in charge of the arrangements.
