Robert H. (Bob) Walden of Dowelltown passed away Sunday, March 17, at noon after a courageous battle with pacreatic cancer.
He was born July 10, 1947. He graduated from Southeastern High School in Detroit, Mich., and was a veteran of the United States Army serving in Vietnam in the 101st Airborne Division. He was a police officer in Hendersonville. Due to health reasons, he left law enforcement and was the district manager at numerous car dealerships in Middle Tennessee. He loved people and never met a stranger. His hobbies were fishing, hunting and golfing. His faith was Baptist and he belonged to the DeKalb Masonic Lodge #358 in Liberty.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Gilbert and Ela Mitchell Woodside Walden; a brother Kenneth Walden; two nieces Karen Walden and Kimmie Lynn Redmon; and a nephew Wendell.
He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Marie; two sons Steve (Karen) Walden of Centre, Ala., and Robert Walden of Nashville; step-son Ronald Mounts of Smithville; grandchildren, Rachel Mounts of Nebraska and Ryan Mounts of Colorado; great-granddaughter Avacyn Ray Wilks of Nebraska; a brother James (Carol) Walden of Alexandria; sisters Helen (Wayne) Cripps of Alexandria and Susan (Phil) George of Smithville; half-sister Peggy Stamps of Madison; and a sister-in-law Jackie Walden of Michigan.
He had one uncle and aunt, Van and Billie Woodside of Dowelltown. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
Anderson Funeral Home, Alexandria,  was in charge of the arrangements.
