Funeral services for Roberta Pauline Looney, 81, of Johnsons Chapel Community of DeKalb County, were held Jan. 12 at the chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Bro. Gary Farris officiated with burial following at Johnson’s Chapel Cemetery.
Mrs. Looney passed away Jan. 10 at NHC of Smithville. She was a homemaker and affiliated with Johnson Chapel Freewill Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband James Looney; parents Claude and Bessie Swindell Collins; sister and a brother Elsie Jo Snodgrass and Harold Collins.
Survivors include her five children Lana Paulette Green of Dalton, Ga., James Randall (Sherry) Looney of Knoxville, Denise Barlow of Cookeville, Claudia Michelle Maynard of Sparta and Armenta (Jerry) Pollard of Smithville; five grandchildren Amanda Phillips of Dalton, Ga., Michael Randall Looney of Knoxville, Kyle Matthew (Saraya) Anderson of Kentucky, Alex Reece Pollard of Smithville and Hope Marie Maynard of Sparta; three great-grandchildren Mackenzie Reece Phillips, Madison Danielle Phillips and Mia Callie Phillips; and a sister Florence Elmore of Sparta.
Pallbearers included Jerry Pollard, Dale and Donald Looney, Joe Mitchell, Jeff Snodgrass and Kyle Anderson.
Love-Cantrell Funeral Home, Smithville, was in charge of the arrangements.
