Roscoe Burton Rigsby, age 91 of Dowelltown, died Wednesday, March 06, 2019, at St. Thomas DeKalb Hospital in Smithville.
He was born April 13, 1927, in Van Buren County was a retired farmer, a World War II/U.S. Army Air Corps veteran, and a member of Cumberland Chapel Free Will Baptist Church.
Mr. Rigsby was preceded in death by parents Ewin Oliver and Laura Mae Pack Rigsby, first wife Betty Jean Rogers Rigsby, son Paul Dwaine Rigsby, sisters Nina Mae Rigsby and Inez Faye Martin, and a brother Ewin O. Rigsby, Jr.
Survivors include his wife Marie Allen Rigsby, his children Bruce (Peggie) Rigsby, Diana (Ernest) Burdett, and Deborah (Timothy) Wanamaker, daughter-in-law Sharon Rigsby Mooneyham, and brothers George Lee Rigsby and Eugene (Pat) Rigsby. Nine grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, family members, and friends also survive.
Funeral service was held Saturday, March 09, 2019, in the McMinnville Funeral Home Chapel. Bro. Dennis Deweese and Bro. Tony Smedley officiated. Interment followed at Long Cemetery in Van Buren County. Military grave rites were conducted by American Legion Post 173 and V. F. W. Post 5064.
