Funeral services for Roy Lee Jones, 70, of Sparta were held December 15 at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home.

Bro. Paul Taylor officiated with burial following in Johnson’s Chapel Cemetery.

He passed away December 12 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center.

He attended Johnson’s Freewill Baptist Church, and was a Deacon for 20 plus years at Johnson’s Chapel Free Will Baptist Church, and Self-Employed Sewing Machine Salesman.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Left Jones and Elizabeth Ashburn Jones; one son, Gary Jones; one brother, Joe Jones; two sisters, Rosell Robinson and Clara Nell Stoglin.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Lou Jones; one son, Steve Jones; one daughter and Son-in-law, Lori and Josh Holloway; three grandchildren, Marley Jones, Luke and Loren Holloway; one brother, Frank and JoAnn Jones; one sister, Oneida and Harold Massa all of Sparta.

Pallbearers included: Eddie and Brayden Hutchings, Cody Atnip, Brian Swearengen, Robert Dunham, and Mike Maughon.

Love-Cantrell Funeral Home, Smithville was in charge of the arrangements.
