Funeral services for Ruby Lee Ballard, 85, of Smithville, were held July 19 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. Bro. Michael Hale officiated with burial following at Burton-Ponder Cemetery.
Mrs. Ballard passed away July 17 at DeKalb Community Hospital. She was a retired factory worker and affiliated with the Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents Fred and Beulah Ponder Cantrell; husband Robert Leonard Ballard; great-grandchildren Jason Lucci and Crystal Allen; brothers Lawrence, Bill and Frank Cantrell; and a sister Jessie Nell Conley.
Survivors include her two daughters Sonia Presley of Smithville, Carolyn Jones of Nashville; two grandchildren Robert Don England and Cassie England; great-grandchildren Tyler Bennett, Kayla Wheeler, Cole, Jacob and Ezra Allen, Serena and Adrean Lucci; great-great-grandchild Sabastian Bennett; and a sister Ruth Prinzvalle of Smithville.
Serving as pallbearers Tim Presley, Nathan Cantrell, Robert Don England, Adrean Lucci, Cole Allen and Tyler Bennett.
DeKalb Funeral Chapel, Smithville, was in charge of the arrangements.
