Funeral services for Ruth Garland Taylor, 92, of Alexandria were held Jan. 8 at Indian Creek Baptist Church. Bro. James Gibbs, Bro. Terry Fessler, and Bro. Mike Carpenter officiated, with burial following at Snow Hill Baptist Cemetery.
She passed away Jan. 6 at DeKalb Community Hospital.
She was a member of Indian Creek Baptist Church and a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ansen Beckwith and Ocie Hale Beckwith; infant daughter, Dianna Sue Taylor; two sisters, Christine Moore and Virginia Dean Beckwith; nephew, Jerry Moore.
She is survived by her husband of almost 69 years, J.B. Taylor of Alexandria; daughter, Judy (Eddie) Fuson; grandson, Zachary (Leigh) Fuson all of Smithville; one brother, W.J. (Jane) Tramel of McMinnville; two sisters, Marguerite Jones of the Dale Ridge Community and Linda (Fred) Stanley of Nashville; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Pallbearers included; Dewayne and Todd Cantrell, Danny Hale, Billy Gerald Nixon, Bobby Tramel, Shane Miller, Wayne Fuson and Fred Stanley.
Love-Cantrell Funeral Home, Smithville, was in charge of arrangements.
