Ruth Pauline Cantrell age 76, of Smithville, passed away Monday morning at her daughter's residence in McMinnville.

She was born October 11, 1939 to the late Hershell and Martha Harriett Martin Judkins.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John T. Cantrell, Sr.; two sons, Melvin Shehane and Anthony "Buck" Ferrell; daughter, Felicia (Johnny) Cantrell; two granddaughters, Bridgette Bates and Jennifer Shehane; four brothers, Jack, Ed, Frank A., and Jess Judkins; one sister, Betty Judkins.

Ms. Ruth attended McMinnville First Assembly of God and was a retired shirt factoryworker.

Survivors include four children, Barbara (David) Bates of McMinnville, Sarah Rogers of McMinnville, Karen (Spencer) Stacey of Montana and Ricky (Tammy) Shehane of Smithville; seven grandchildren, Travis Shehane, Chasity Scott, Clint Shehane, Christy Spears, Joshua Cantrell, Jessica Shehane and Malachi Stacey; six great-grandchildren; three sisters, Sarah Ophaline Judkins of McMinnville, Willie Ferrell of Smithville and Nettie Marino of McMinnville; special friends, Elizabeth and Gary Prater and Vickie Bates.

Funeral services were conducted at 1p.m. Thursday July 28 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. Bros, Sammy Lee and Michael Hale officiated, with burial following in Mt. View Cemetery.

Pallbearers included: Tony Reeder, Matt Scott, Gary Prater, Johnathan Spears, Clint Shehane, and Alvin"Bug" Reeder.

DeKalb Funeral Chapel, was in charge of the arrangements.
