Funeral services for Ruth Ray, 82, of Smithville, were held March 1 at the chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Bro. Darrell Cantrell and Bro. Garry McBride officiated with burial following in New Union Cemetery.   
Ms. Ray passed away Feb. 28 at NHC Healthcare. She was retired from Genesco and of the Baptist faith. 
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Thurman and Lula Lakey Ray; five sisters, Lois Ray, Imogene Rogers, Beulah Hazel Ray, Doris Ray and Novella Ray; and four brothers, Burnice, George, JT and Clayton Ray.
Survivors include her brother, Donald Ray; a sister, Nell Rankhorn of Smithville; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers included Lakey Rogers, Eddie Ray, Delbert Ray, Ernest Ray, Michael Ray and Kenneth Ray.
Love-Cantrell Funeral Home, Smithville, was in charge of the arrangements.
