Funeral services for Ruthie M. Page, 72, of Smithville were held Jan. 29 at the chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Bro. James Gibbs officiated with burial following at Whorton Springs Cemetery.
Mrs. Page passed away Jan. 26 at DeKalb Community Hospital. She was a homemaker and affiliated with Indian Creek Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents Verbal and Reba Jones Hayes and her daughter Teresa Page.
Survivors include her husband of 52 years, W.J. Page of Smithville; a son Glen (Cynthia) Page; daughter Cindy (Sam) Chessor, all of Smyrna; three grandchildren Sara and Jacob Page and Lindsey Chessor, all of Smyrna; step-mother Elene Hayes of Smithville; three half-brothers Grady (Diane) Taylor of Crossville, Paul (Wanda) Taylor and Ricky Taylor, all of Smithville; two half-sisters Margaret (Wendell) Judkins and Freta (Sonny) Whaley, all of Smithville; a step-brother Carlton Miller of Smithville; a step-sister Carlene (Hughes) Hearst of Georgia; and several other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Pallbearers included Tony Cantrell, Jacob and Sarah Page, Earl Price, Tom McDowell, Kelvin Page, Jeff Vanatta and James Snyder.
Serving as honorary pallbearers were Brenda Greene, Louise Arnold, Evelyn Young, Treva Turner, Lisa Baker, Wanda Byford and Joy Fay Carter.
Love-Cantrell Funeral Home, Smithville, was in charge of the arrangements.
