Funeral services for Sally Ann Dowling Shepard, 83, of Smithville, (Green Hill Community) were held March 27 at the St. Gregory’s Catholic Church. Father David Cooney officiated with burial following at Young-Bend Cemetery.Mrs. Shepard passed away March 24 at her residence. She was a retired office manager for Dr. Joseph Crosby and was of the Catholic faith.She was preceded in death by her parents John W. and Catherine Fleming Dowling.Survivors include her husband Miles D. Shepard; a sister Elizabeth Dowling, both of Smithville; two step-daughters Susan and Thomas Lord of Florida; Wendy and Phil Wise of Arkansas; seven step-grandchildren; and a special friend Cliff Julian of Florida.
