Funeral services for Sam A. Love, 93, of Smithville, were held Oct. 20 at the chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Bro. Tim Woodward and Tommy Webb officiated with burial following in DeKalb Memorial Gardens.   
Mr. Love passed away Oct. 18 at NHC of Smithville. He was a retired U.S. Navy veteran from WWII, affiliated with the Church of Christ, a retired insuance agent and retired Clerk and Master of DeKalb County from 1955-1982.
 He was preceded in death by his wife, Allie Rhea Foster Love; a son, Sam Morgan Love; parents, Morgan and Janie Puckett Love; and a brother, Frank Love.
Survivors include his cousin, Robert Shelby Love, of McMinnville, and a devoted care-giver, Debra Robinson, of Smithville.
Pallbearers included Bobby Love, Mike Corely, Jim Judkins, Gary Cripps, Tyler Conger and Chip Robinson.
Serving as honorary pallbearers were James E. Hodges, Michael D. Bailey, James A. Dillon Jr., Leslie B. Enoch II, David D. Haynes, John D. Johnson, John C. Knowles, Samuel L. Swafford, Ms. Sue Puckett Jernigqan, Mrs. Linda Adcock, Mike Foster, Bratten Cook and Billy Willingham.
Love-Cantrell Funeral Home, Smithville, was in charge of the arrangements.
