A memorial service for Sammie “Bunt” Adams, 79, of Powell and formerly of Macon County, will be held Feb. 11 at Enon Missionary Baptist Church in Lafayette. Elder J.E. Shoulders will officiate.
Mr. Adams passed away at his residence.
He was born July 14, 1932 in Macon County. He was saved at an early age and joined the Enon Missionary Baptist Church in Lafayette, was a construction worker and carpenter for Gaines & Gaines Company in Nashville for over 30 years,  and  a veteran of the Korean War.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Thomas and Lela Curtis Adams; sisters, Virginia Russell and Rebecca Follis; and brother, Curtis Adams.
 Survivors include his  daughter, Mylinda “Punkin” (Elder Joey Hackett) of Lafayette; son, “Pee-Wee” (Marlene) Adams of Smithville; granddaughter, Coty Hackett of Lafayette; grandsons, Dustin Hackett of Lafayette, Jordan Adams,  and Blaine (Kayla) Adams of Smithville; step-granddauther, Danielle (Anthony) Carr of Smith; and great-grandchildren, Hannah, Elijah and Katelyn.
Anderson & Son Funeral Home, Red Boiling Springs, was in charge of the arrangements.
