Funeral services for Shelvie Jean Underhill, 72, of Alexandria were held May 20 at Anderson Funeral Home. Bro. Gary Caplinger and Bro.Thurman Seber officiated with burial following at Hillview Cemetery. Mrs. Underhill passed away May 18 at DeKalb Community Hospital. She was born Feb. 18, 1939 in DeKalb County to Marvin and Vaughtie Roberts Willoughby. Mrs. Underhill was an interior decorator and affiliated with Coopers Chapel Missionary Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her brother, Louie Willoughby and great-grandson, Noah Roth. Survivors include her husband, John Underhill; son, James Underhill; daughter, Yvonne Campbell; grandchildren, Brian (Shelley) Campbell, Ashley (Caleb) Roth, and Nicholas Underhill; great-grandchildren, Timothy Campbell and Elizabeth Roth all of Alexandria; brother and sisters-in-law, Daphene Willoughby of Watertown, Jack (Faye) Underhill of Alexandria, Joyce (J.T.) Crook of Smithville, and Patsy Adamson of Liberty; nieces and nephews. Pallbearers included Caleb Roth, Brian Campbell, Nicholas Campbell, Marvin Willoughby, Dewayne Willoughby, and David Cripps.
