76 year old Shirley Dean Cripps of Smithville passed away Tuesday at her residence.
She was a faithful member of the Smithville Church of Christ for 48 years and was retired from Kingston Timers after 32 years.
Shirley was a wonderful cook and one of her favorite ways of loving her family was to prepare wonderful feasts of scrumptious home-cooked goodies. A few of her specialties include fried chicken, fried sweet potatoes, fried corn, green beans and yummy chocolate and pecan pies. Not only was her family blessed by her fabulous cooking, she was often found delivering these goodies to those of her congregation and community who had lost a loved one, who were ill or just needed a friendly face to come calling. She will also be remembered for her sweet spirit and her kindness to all she met. She will be missed terribly by her loving husband and family.
